Activating knowledge
We used to learn by sitting at a desk for hours, memorising facts and dates. Today the aim is understanding: being able to apply what you learn and explain it to others. Activation is the next step. Learners use their knowledge straight away to solve real problems, which builds creativity, confidence and ownership of their own learning.
The teacher or trainer becomes a guide rather than a transmitter of knowledge, working through questions and dialogue. Edward de Bono’s lateral thinking inspired many of our media: we like to open up the blinds.
Publisher and studio
As a publisher, we create and own our titles: the RA Series magazines, the Let’s go TEAM game, essays and toolkits. As a studio, we turn the knowledge and expertise of organisations and partners into educational media, from courses in the pharmaceutical sector to teaching tools for multinational companies.
Who we serve
HR professionals, trainers, schools and teams who want people to keep growing: to enjoy their work, discover unsuspected talents and apply what they learn. Our media address the usual weak spots of training: low engagement, too little real-world application and one-off events instead of continuous learning.
Roel Arnold, founder
Roel Arnold is an educator, instructional designer and media developer. He lectured at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven and Algebra University College in Zagreb, and created educational materials for both, for SKF Maintenance Products and for other multinational companies. He holds a Master’s degree from Maastricht University and has lived and worked in Estonia, Austria, Croatia, the Netherlands and Belgium.
The primary focus of my teaching approach is to stimulate curiosity and engage the audience in new learning experiences.
Roel Arnold
Rooted in Tallinn
In medieval Tallinn, craft guilds passed on mastery by doing: apprentices learned from masters at the workbench, not from books alone. Fortekigi works in that spirit. Knowledge becomes a craft when you practise it together.
